Useful Information
Experienced, qualified staff
We take great pride when employing our Active Youth NI staff. They will all have Enhanced Criminal Record Checks (Access NI) and a qualification to the level they are employed for. All our Lead Coaches are trained teachers or Level 2 qualified and experienced coaches.
Capturing information
When you book your child/children onto one of our services, it is important you give us all the information we ask for. Your information, and information about your young people are kept confidentially and safely (in adherence with our data protection policy). Medical conditions/important information regarding a child, is only utilised when or if required and is stored on our secure online system. Any child who requires inhalers, EPI pen in case of emergency must bring this to camp in a clearly labelled box.
This will ensure your young persons safety and wellbeing is appropriately safeguarded throughout their time with Active Youth NI.
Sickness
Be mindful of other children and families if your child is sick, please do not allow them to attend any Active Youth service or funded programme until fully recovered.
If there is a vomiting bug, please keep your child at home. Government guidelines state, a vomiting bug can be contagious for up to 48 hours after vomiting has stopped and you should stay at home during this time.
If your young person becomes sick during an Active Youth NI session one of our coaches will get in touch with the designated ‘Emergency Contact’ and will be required to collect their young person at the earliest possible inconvenience.
If a child is sick and unable to attend Active Youth Afterschool or AYNI Camp, a refund cannot be given as the provision has been provided based on original numbers of young people booked.
Special Educational Needs
As community interest company passionate about getting ALL children active for their overall wellbeing, we welcome disabled children. We deliver funded programmes specifically designed for disbaled children - see Active & Able for more information. We also welcome disabled children to our other services. We are realistic about the limitations of a physical activity session or camp environment for children with special needs and attendance will be considered on an individual basis so please get in touch if you have any questions about the accessibility of a session for your young person. Where we can, we will offer appropriate care within our staffing ratio to accommodate.
Cancellation charges
Any cancellations of Active Youth NI services must be received in writing via email.
